Nominated for CMO’s Blogger of the Year, Writer of the Year, and BikeBiz’s Woman of the Year, I am a creative writer, presenter, and passionate mountain biker.
What started as a hobby, mountain biking quickly led me on an incredible journey. In July 2015, I launched this website, Velo Me, a space dedicated to encouraging more women to step out of their comfort zones and get active with mountain biking. The momentum from this venture gained a great deal of traction online, via social media and in the UK mountain bike community.
Following the launch of Velo Me, I began working full-time as a Staff Writer at Total Women’s Cycling, the leading online cycling magazine for women. I worked my way up to the position of Editor, where I continued to run the title single-handedly for a further 18 months.
From there I took up the position of Presenter / Off-Road Content Manager at Play Action Sports, working across the GMBN and EMBN channels. I’ve gained valuable skills in presenting to camera both in a studio environment and out on location. Being the first female off-road presenter is a considerable achievement not only for myself but for women’s representation in this mostly male-dominated sport.
Over the years, I have contributed both written and video work for many other publications including Dirt Mountain Bike Magazine, and I also feature as the subject in a variety of insightful interviews about women in mountain biking.
If you’d like to get in touch about Velo Me and creative opportunities, then please feel free to do so via the contact page here.
Why don’t you give me a follow on social media for more up-to-date mountain bike antics:
