Nominated for Blogger of the Year and Writer of the Year, I’m a mountain bike journalist, equal rights advocate and, some might say, crazy cat lady.

What started as a hobby, mountain biking quickly led me on an incredible journey that I didn’t anticipate. In July 2015, I launched Velo Me, a website dedicated to promoting and encouraging more women to start mountain biking, along with the social women’s club, the Velo Vie Ladies. The momentum from this venture gained a great deal of traction online, via social media and in the UK mountain bike community.

Following the launch of Velo Me, I began working full-time as a Staff Writer at Total Women’s Cycling, the leading online cycling magazine for women. I climbed up to the position of Deputy Editor, where I ran the title single-handedly for a further 18 months.

From there I took up the position of Presenter / Off-Road Content Manager at Play Action Sports, working across the GMBN and EMBN channels. I’ve gained valuable skills in presenting to camera both in a studio environment and out in the field. Being the first off-road female presenter is a considerable achievement not only for myself but for women’s representation in this largely male-dominated sport.

Over the years, I have contributed both written and video work for a number of other publications including Dirt Mountain Bike Magazine, and I’ve also been featured as the subject for a variety of insightful interviews about women in mountain biking.

When I’m not out and about on my bike, I’m usually found cosied up with a cup of tea and my gorgeous cat, Gomez Thunderpaws.
