We know how difficult it can be to buy appropriate children’s MTB clothing and equipment, but it’s reassuring to see things are changing in the market with more brands producing wider ranges of kidswear and kit.
SDG Components forged a sterling reputation with their saddles and components, and now, they’ve turned their focus to children’s MTB with their new Jr Pro Kit. Including a saddle, a set of grips, a pair of pedals and handlebars, the little shredder in your life can experience comfort and performance like the adults.
“It’s the coolest thing ever to pass on the SDG heritage and authenticity to my kids. With the JR PRO KIT, she gets skinnier diameter bars and grips, matching pedals and an amazing SDG seat to match it all.” – Cam Zink
Fly Jr Saddle: Designed for smaller sit bones, the saddle is shorter and narrower than traditional ones. With a slight rear rise design to help pelvis rotation and power from a standard sitting position, the Fly Jr Saddle has ample padding and weighs just 270g.
Slater 90 Pedal: With a 90 x 90mm platform, these pedals are ideal for smaller feet. Constructed with a Cro-Mo axle, fully sealed and serviceable DU bushing design, these pedals have six bottom loading, replaceable 2mm high steel pins per side.
Slater Jr Grips: By tooling a unique bar that offers 19mm bar ends, the Slater Jr grip provides a better riding experience, while not sacrificing the comfort by using a thinner grip. With a one-piece integrated lock-on system, these grips have a dual-density design and tapered core to reduce slippage. They’re 115mm in length and weigh 55g.
Slater 650 Bar: Rounding off the SDG Jr Pro Kit is the Slater 650 bar which is developed for optimal ergonomics. It features a 31.8mm mount but uniquely tapers to 19mm to accommodate the accompanying thinner grips. Constructed from 6061 sandblasted aluminium, these bars are 650mm wide for improved control weighing 260g
These kits are available in four colours: pink, black, green and blue, and are available for £130. For more information head over to the SDG website.
